The “Capitalizing Human Mobility for Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development for Myanmar” (CHIME) study aims to address the lack of research regarding migration and its impacts on development in four areas of Myanmar: Ayeyarwady Region, Mandalay Region, Rakhine State and Shan State. CHIME employed a unique mixed-methods design, including a quantitative household survey and qualitative, in-depth interviews, collected in two rounds.

The CHIME project was implemented by a consortium of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the University of Sussex, Metta Development Foundation and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Financial support was provided by the Livelihoods and Food Security Fund (LIFT).
